Sangbum Ahn traces the entanglements of ecological, technological and infrastructural systems, following the ways in which they inscribe perception, memory and the sensory conditions of the present. His work moves across hybrid documentary, sound, and installation, drawing together the slow time of geological strata, the circulations of hydrological systems, and the opaque operations of data-driven infrastructures.
He composes these heterogeneous layers into temporal cartographies where nonhuman forces, regulatory technologies and environmental self-organisation collide and co-produce one another. Through this process, he constructs speculative yet grounded environments in which infrastructures appear as techno-ecological media and the world becomes perceptible through its hidden rhythms, frictions and thresholds.
