Captcha explores blurred boundaries between humans, nonhuman animals, and objects through technologies such as robotics, AI, cloud computing, and IoT. Documentary footage of a funeral for broken AIBO robot dogs in Chiba, Japan, and their repair workshop merges with fables of animals and things. Interviews with engineers and Buddhist monks weave technical, animistic, and ecological reflections, while nonhuman agents with machine-learned images and voices imagine co-evolution with humans.
