Circuit, 2022, single-channel video, colour, stereo sound, 23 min

Circuit traces three forms of displacement within London’s distribution industry, exploring how GPS and algorithm-driven platforms regulate and expose migrant labour. A North Korean delivery driver narrates his disorientation as he crosses the city, while a young cyclist races through restaurants, and an autonomous robot hesitantly navigates its route. Platform work offers migrants low-barrier entry and illusory freedom, yet the gig economy operates as an algorithmic panopticon, augmenting, regulating, and controlling movement. Ghostly human labour trains the very robots meant to replace it, as the camera reflects my own precarious migrant position at once observer, passenger, and entangled witness.
